IBPS RRB Syllabus 2024 And Exam Pattern

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the Regional Rural Bank (RRB) exam annually to recruit candidates for Officer and Office Assistant positions in regional rural banks across India. The IBPS has announced the exam dates for RRB 2024 recruitment.

The IBPS RRB exam Syllabus is conducted every year by the IBPS to fill vacancies for Officer Scale I, II, III and Office Assistant (Clerk) posts in participating regional rural banks. Lakhs of candidates appear for the preliminary, mains and interview rounds. IBPS has released the exam calendar for 2024, announcing the dates for the upcoming RRB examination.

IBPS RRB Exam Dates 2024

As per the exam calendar, the IBPS RRB Prelims for Office Assistant and Officer Scale I will be conducted on August 3rd, 4th, 10th, 17th and 18th 2024. The Officer Scale II & III single exam will be held on September 29, 2024. The RRB Clerk mains exam is scheduled for October 6, 2024. The complete schedule is:

The detailed RRB vacancy list will be announced along with the official notification. In 2023, over 9000 vacancies were announced across Officer and Office Assistant posts. A similar number of vacancies are expected this year as well.

Eligibility Criteria

The RRB eligibility criteria covers nationality, age limit and educational qualification. For Office Assistants, candidates should be between 18-28 years with a bachelor's degree. For Officer posts, the age limit is 18-30 years for Scale I and 21-32 years for Scale II & III. Relevant bachelor's degrees are required. Relaxation in upper age limit will be provided as per government norms.

Exam Pattern

The IBPS RRB exam pattern includes the following stages:

Office Assistant:

  • Preliminary exam - Reasoning & Numerical Ability
  • Mains exam - Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, English/Hindi, Computer Knowledge

Officer Scale I:

  • Preliminary exam - Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude
  • Mains exam - Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, English/Hindi, Computer Knowledge
  • Interview round

For Officer Scale II & III, there will be a single exam followed by an interview.


The IBPS RRB salary structure is as follows:

Officer Scale III Rs.38,000 - Rs.44,000

In addition to the basic pay, allowances and perks as applicable will also be provided.
